The Yo Train Project

The project is based upon the results from a previous project entitled Yo-Pro, youth work in progress, where training material for youth workers were developed. The purpose with the current project – entitled Yo-Train - youth workers in training - is to design a consistent training programme/concept linked to a method of recognising the non-formal learning occurring. The results will be used by training providers in further training of youth workers and by employers to quality ensure the competences in their staff and as a way of broaden the base for recruitment. The beneficiaries of the project are professional youth workers both in the sense that further training and skill enhancement programmes will be developed and improved and in the sense that the youth worker profession will be better defined in relation to the demands in the society.

The European Commission has financed the Yo-Train project in the framework of the Lifelong Learning Programme (Leonardo - Transfer of Innovation).

The project is coordinated by the Municipality of Skellefteå in cooperation with partners from Germany, , Italy, Norway, Sweden and United Kingdom.
